I am so late joining these lovely teacher bloggers in the "Meet The Teacher" linky but hey better late than never right? Thanks Stephanie for creating this!
I'm a 31 year old, Pre-school teacher living in NYC. This is my forth year teaching at a Montessori school and my first year working with 2 and 3 year olds so I am very excited about that! I am currently working on my masters in Early Childhood and Special Education (it feels I have been in grad school forever!)

No more sweets!
Wow it's been ages since my last blog post. I am so very sorry for not posting anything sooner. I get all wrapped up in work that I tend to neglect this little blog of mine. Anywho, today I am writing because I was inspired by an amazing person who also happens to be one of my favorite fashion bloggers, Elle from Living In Color Style. She wrote a very inspiring blog entry about something personal in her life. You should definitely check out her blog! Not only does she have an awesome fashion sense, she's also very sweet and a fellow teacher! With that being said, here is my #realbloggerbeauty story:

Kira in the city...Atlantic City that is!
Earlier this week, I went to Atlantic City with my cousin and sister. I am not a big gambler...although my sister and cousin like to say that I am. I do enjoy visiting the slots every now and then. We stayed at Revel. It is such a modern, hip and spacious hotel. We stayed in an Ocean view room. And boy what a view it was!

Wedding Season has begun!
Its official! Wedding season has begun! I attended this past weekend my cousin's Cecilia's wedding. I was actually a bridesmaid. Oh what a fun wedding it was! There was so much laughter, tears, and such joy! I had an amazing time and I was so honored and happy to be a part of her day.
My cousin hired a makeup and hairstylist to do our hair and makeup for the wedding. I think he did such an amazing job! I feel bad that I do not remember his name but he was so funny! He kept making us laugh and made my cousin feel less nervous. Because we all know brides tend to be nervous on their wedding day! :)
The wedding ceremony took place at the church my cousin attended since she moved to NYC years ago. My grandparents were married in that church as well. Church ceremonies are so beautiful.
We made a quick stop at Astoria Park in Queens for photos but the wind was not cooperating with us LOL
The reception took place in Queens. I loved how they decorated the place to match the color of her wedding which was a teal blue mixed with aqua blue. Besides, I love the color blue! :)

I have to thank my cousin Nelly for taking these gorgeous pictures! I did take some as you can see with my iPhone but if it weren't for Nelly, I wouldn't have any from the ceremony or reception. :)
I have a bridal shower to attend at the end of the month for my good friend Bariana. Another exciting wedding to attend in May as well. I just love wedding season!

Happy Birthday, Mom!
Today is my amazing mother's birthday! I am dedicating this post to her.
Happy birthday Mom! Today I celebrate you!
Mom, thank you for always listening to me vent about anything in my life. Thank you for always reminding me to check my blood sugar when I was first diagnosed with diabetes. Thank you for always making sure I ate my snacks and checked my blood sugar daily. And for being my rock through the whole ordeal (You are a blessing!).
Mom, thank you for taking me on trips to the Dominican Republic when I was a little girl. They made me appreciate my heritage and embrace my culture. Thank you for always cooking an amazing dinner and for attempting to try and teach me to cook...(I need more lessons).
Thank you for ONLY yelling at me when I left the playground that one day during recess and you came to spend time with me only to realize I wasn't there. (I am so sorry for making you panic for 10 minutes!) I thank you for our arguments (yes our arguments) because they keep me grounded and they make me respect you even more.
Thank you for shopping with me. (Sorry I get impatient when you seem to browse the same store for hours). Thank you for teaching me to be independent and for learning how to save money (we still need to work on that one). Thank you for calling me when I stay out late just to make sure I am ok. (Even though sometimes it annoys me, I love that you still worry).
Thank you for being my role model, my best friend and my biggest supporter. You're an inspiration to all! All that I am and all that I aspire to be, I owe it to you Mom!

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!
In honor of Dr. Seuss birthday, I decided to post pictures of my baby cousin Gabby's first birthday party which I attended last week. She loves Hop On Pop so much, that her mom decided to decorate her party with Dr. Seuss books, decor and favors. I must say she definitely knows how to decorate a party. From the balloons, to the favors, to the outfits Gabby and her big sister wore (she had them custom made on Etsy), everything screamed Dr. Seuss. Here are a few photos from the party.
See? She really loves that book! :)
How adorable is her outfit? I wish I had a picture of what her older sister was wearing. Her top said "Proud Sister".
I wish I had taken more pictures of her decor. Dr. Seuss is so popular in my classroom as well. My little students love when I read Green Eggs And Ham, as well as Go Dogs Go and the ever favorite Hop on Pop. The rhythmic words of his books, which are so catchy, make reading his books so enjoyable.
My favorite Dr. Seuss quote
Which is your favorite Dr. Seuss book?
